Dear Leslie, Thank you for the unstinting help you gave me with my embouchure problems, I am now enjoying my playing again and really appreciate the advice you gave, especially as my previous two teachers had both failed to identify where I was going wrong, Best wishes, Kenneth Murray

Dear Leslie Craven Your book arrived today and I have spent a couple of hours having an initial look at it , very well presented and for someone who is not paying any tuition fees fantastic value, I have Mr Ridenours book but your is quite complementary saying often the same thing in a different way so that it increases the likelihood of understanding what one should do, The first chapter alone is for me worth the price,

Cedric thank you for the endorsement - yes Tom Ridenour and I have very similar views on teaching and we both have great respect for each other's method. |

Dear Leslie Your book is written with a wonderful awareness of how pupils learn - I have a masters in psychology of education (as well as a music degree) and take a great interest in searching out the ideal learning set-up for children, both physically and emotionally, so that they may progress and enjoy playing their instruments, Don't you wish that Buffet would bring out a plastic orchestral C clarinet like the B12 but in the key of C? I will often ask students to wait until their fingers can reach the little finger keys but some cannot wait and are desperate to play the clarinet, so we get a Leblanc spirit C nowadays, but they are so expensive, I find that Graham Lyons' C is 'outgrown' so quickly by bright children as they need to learn about L/R alternative fingering fairly early on if they speed on in their learning process, Very soon they need the full orchestral version and I just wish that the manufacturers would listen to us teachers and bring out a cheaper but good quality full orchestral C,

Dear Elinor thank you for such a glowing endorsement of my book. The C Clarinet issue is addressed by Tom Ridenour who markets a beautiful inexpensive clarinet called Arioso made of pure hard rubber and I have one. It is excellent. I hope this helps. |
